A group of us ladies, we craft. One of us chooses something delightful to make, we gather at someone's house and we get inspired, assemble and chat. It's quite a dream come true for me to meet other kindred souls who call this kind of thing, well, fun. We, makers of crafts, were invited by Jill to "Crafty Ladies Night" at
Highland Tap & Burger, the place in town to eat a burger when that craving knocks. We thought, wow! this craft night is becoming so popular and public, until we realized it was a craft
beer event.... like we would turn that down!
It was cool, this beer sampling deal. About 60 She's were there, some there for fun like us, others there as home-brewers, attempting to break into the scene professionally. We tasted 5 different beers, from pilsner to smokey ale (you could definately taste the barrel on that one) and, so appropriately ate sausages to accompany our brewskies, for full flavor maximation, which is what any good German beer drinker would do, yes?
At the end of the evening, came a wonderful surprise, the President of this club, Katie O'Shay ( how perfectly Irish!) put her arm into a box and pulled out the ticket with MY name on it. And so folks, I won! Scored 2 tickets to the Great American Beer Festival here in Denver this month. Cheers!!!
