Getting settled at her new home, the Amaryllis first focused all its energy on it's foundation, it's stem. In just a day or two, the stem went from crooked to perfectly straight and strong, just like a trunk.

With all kinds of comfort- soil, sunlight and admiration, a hint of blossom peeked through. The Amaryllis started making it's plans to blossom, and I got a feeling I should make plans too. I got a feeling at this point that when she started to blossom I would do the same, the inkling came that perhaps this flower and I were working at the same speed.

Just when I thought there were going to be white blossoms, a hint of pink showed up. The blossoming was one of deeper colors it seemed. There was more to this flower than originally thought, and perhaps things were happening, quicker than expected. On this Monday, I put in my two weeks notice at work.

Yesterday morning, I got this shot before work. The Amaryllis looked so perfect. So ready to begin her opening. I wondered what would happen if she started her blossoming before me, which at this point, I thought my blossoming would occur when I leave my current job and begin a new chapter, which wasn't for another nine days. I figured all was well, somewhere, somehow, and went about my day.
On that same day, Wednesday, after completing most of my daily tasks, one of my bosses called me into her office, explaining that it's best for business to have yesterday be my last day. I was very sad at first and taken off guard. I was looking forward to having a few more days to say goodbye but, I was excited in a way too. My blossoming had begun. When I arrived home, freshly in my new chapter of things, I saw the Amaryllis had opened one petal. She was freshly in the new chapter of things too. Her blossoming had started. Day one, petal one.
And here we are today on this first day of December. This morning there are two petals making their way out. Fitting for day 2 of my adventure too. Little by little each day we will go, until fully blossomed.
