Just when I thought we had nothing for dinner....while de-cluttering, a little of this, and a lot of that became a full-on Southern Supper. |
With things uncluttered, Feng Shui comes next.
Feng Shui is the ancient Chinese science of arranging one's home/office/room/space in an auspicious way to bring blessings. A bagua map is an easy way to determine what area is designated best to display and store items pertaining to that 'category' of life. Colors are also useful to enhance areas. Have you always wanted a red accent wall? The Fame and/or Love areas would be perfect. Is your living room in the "Family and Health" area? Perhaps a sage green then?
To "bagua map" your home, mentally or with a rough sketch, line up the bottom of the map with your main entrance.

In our house, the main (and easy) changes I made were:
-Displaying all family photos together in the Family area.
-Adding a small coin jar to the wealth area, when I find a dime in the couch, cha-ching into the jar.
-Keeping pairs of items, as well as things of beauty in the "love corner" as well as a photo(s) of you and your love.
-I'm most excited about our bathroom, which is located in the travel and helpful people zone. I never realized how many pieces of art we have collected from our travels until they were all together. Now, instead of being scattered about the house, they are all located in the bathroom. Perhaps 2012 will bring us new vistas and adventures with a passport!
A few other Feng Shui tips:
-store all brooms and mops upside down when not in use, this helps from having your money being 'swept away.'
-it's said that a fountain placed near your front door (either inside or out) will create a "flow" of money into your life. A lottery winner swore by this because it worked for her in two weeks flat!
Here's to many blessings and much abundance in 2012!!
