a sonnet (sorta)

Oh lunar eclipse, oh lunar eclipse
how we like to view your shadow
Getting all bundled up and tromping upstairs
to enjoy your sunrise show from the roof
Spotting a fellow eclipse seeker
we joined Pete upon his stoop.

Retired you had already, beyond the Rocky Mountains
polite though to leave us  a rosette afterglow
Thank you Lunar eclipse, we'll visit again your full
in three years time. Until then, shine away.

at about 6:30 a.m. the moon was 3/4 covered by the earths shadow. it appeared as though there was a liquid in on the bottom half of the moon. at this point, I went in to wake up AMC to see what we could see with a bit more light on its way.
seeing Pete, a neighbor set up with his tripod, we jumped the 'fence' to join him.

while the eclipse wasn't visible, we still enjoyed the birth of a new day. a Saturday at that.

Have a great weekend! We're heading to the cabin, signing off until Monday!
