the great affair of moving

it seems the vacation is not over. while 2 days ago, my feet walked on the lands Florida, Texas (airports count, right?) and Colorado all in one day; yesterday, i was called on a rocky mountain kind of adventure down south and west. i had a doctor's appointment (gotta keep the insides fruitful) which spawned, a road trip.

living downtown, i don't use a car much because most things are a walk or Wendy bike ride away. 99.9% of the time AMC drives when we're together because his sporty car is a stick shift and only ambidexturous people like him can do it (he uses both hands on the mouse, and even while painting sometimes-skills.) while i'm pretty confident i could drive stick shift if i absolutely had to, (pregnant woman in labor type of thing) i could.  but, i don't really prefer to imagine it in the city. there are so many stop and goes- that's a whole lot of gear changing and clutch pushes. it makes me nervous and clammy to think about it, and clammy is nothing to mess with. anyhow, the point is, i don't usually drive myself on day long roadtrips anymore. but, i remembered yesterday, how i love them.

after being in the flat land of tropical florida for a good bit, the mountains yesterday kept suprising me. it's almost like i forgot how they feel. they awe and humble me. the day's weather was what the japanese call "a little spring." it's one of those days that if you woke up from a long coma, you'd swear it was april.

“For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move.” - Robert Louis Stevenson

my ears popped because the elevation is so high

the best is golden fields, next to a high, bright sky

cutest town ever! there are natural water fountain springs throughout town where you can fill up your water bottle, it tastes like perrier!
