1. The Great Gatsby
Every few decades or so this classic is destined to come back. This year's Christmas Day the wait will be over and we will get transported to the land of Gatsby. Here are some photos of the last production in 1974. The cars, the creme, the Robert Redford!
I personally am rooting for a collective wardrobe swoon. Perhaps creme suits and pinstripe pants will spring up within! Below is a Gatsby look for 2012.
For this year's production, Leonardo DiCaprio has been slated to play The Great Jay Gatsby himself. It completely makes sense. There is something old world about Leo. He did pull off Romeo in the 90's and Jack in Titanic. Here is what we are looking at for the 2012 production, due out Christmas Day.
2. Marley
I've always said that I'd love to hang out at a party with Bob Marley, this year (May?) might be the ticket. A documentary is due out to show the life and music of Marley. Comingsoon.net says it perfectly:
"Bob Marley's universal appeal, impact on music history and his role as a social and political prophet is both unique and unparalleled. His music and message transcend culture, language and creed and resonate around the world today as powerfully as when he was alive. Only a handful of musicians have ever achieved such an impact and Bob Marley, though his life was far too short, stands among them."
3. Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?
Flashback! 2nd grade computer lab class. Carmen was always traveling the world looking for thieves who enjoy spunkeling and stole Big Ben! They were big jobs, but Carmen could always catch 'em.
Most fellow 90's children will remember this video game, it taught us how to work a computer in the first place. Today this video game is making it to the silver screen! It's rumoured that Jennifer Lopez might be Carmen. I'm a little wary about this, but hope she pulls out her big guns for this one. Either way, I'll take a look at it, if just for old times sake.
Did you play this computer game too?
Happy popcorn crunching!
