a nibble off the summer cookie.

on our meander down the canyon. the whole weekend, the skies were this way. miss moon pulled all-dayers. she was visible all weekend- even during the day. i love when that happens.

If Colorado were a lover, It'd be passionate. Also, spontaneous, and, around certain times of the month-unpredictable.

This weekend at the cabin, we wore our bathing suits and got sunburned. it was fantastic.  oh! the smell of sunscreen again and the windows wide open with a Steve Miller record leaking out. And that 'all wrapped up in sun' feeling. It was just enough nibble off 'the cookie of summer,' just a little swipe off icing from the back of 'the summer cake.'

Colorado is a thoughtful and compassionate lover too. It sends presents, guised as stunningly beautiful days, sporatically throughout the last of the cold months, that allow us to keep the faith and keep on truckin.'

This past weekend had to be one of those presents because, it's snowing this morning! Just as our sunburn has seeped into tan! You never know what to expect from a love affair with Colorado, so mysterious.

Weekends at the cabin are the best for doing nothing on the outside and lots on the inside. And on weekends like this one, for being outside alot and inside a little.

They are perfect conditions for asking AMC one of my 'island questions.' This is a game of sorts that I play all the time. Mostly with myself, when I realize that I love something so much. It's my ultimate test of the term, "I love." I make lists of 6 things that I would bring with me from each category of life (books, CD's, individual songs, foods...) if I had to go live on an island for the rest of ever. I asked AMC an island question of:

"If you could have a poker night with any 6 men from any time and place, who would it be?"
They were:

Deepak Chopra
Darwin
Bob Marley
Al Capone
Barack Obama
Dave Matthews
Ben Harper

That was 7, so he had to stop....there's only so much room on the boat, ya know? What does your poker night list look like?

It's Tuesday morning now, and the trees outside with their brand spankin' new, bright green leaves are meeting snow for the first time. Are they curious about that snow, as they drink it right up?

The records on repeat were Crosby, Nash & Young and Steve Miller (note not with Stills or Band, I think I like it better this way.) This is a Mutty cat who apparently doesn't want to flip the record.

living room cushions brought outside make it impossible to get up, so it's better not to try. naturally.

our first round at steak cooked on the fire grill.

contemplation: shall we use any of these at our wedding?

AMC built us a new back table and window ledges for some flower pots to lay. A completion beer was in order. it was a Belgian kind, with bubbles.
