Will Bike for Cupcakes

Absolutely in front of my apartment building!

I saw it blocks down the street, and really almost didn't believe it.... that bright pink cupcake camper was winking my way. On my commute home from work today, I did my usual 5 block route, cruisin' my Wendy girl bike in the summer evening air. My goodness, there was a cupcake truck right in FRONT of my apartment building.... right in front of mine. I pulled Wendy up to her normal bike rack parking spot and could hardly stand to look over there.... I felt shy. I mean, how nice of this truck to come here just for me? And then I saw the sign--- celebrating bike to work day!!! How did they know I biked to work?

And then it clicked, so that is why there were SO many more bikers around this morning... I thought that was funny.

Yep!

Oh hooray for cupcake trucks parked in front of your house! And, even more so, hooray for biking ANYWHERE! The joy of a bicycle riding is a joy untamed, in my book. The freedom there on your seat... I mean, only on a bike can you use the law to your advantage. Sometimes you really don't want to wait at a red light when abosolutely no cars are going the other way- you just wanna run it... on a bike you can! Sometimes, you are really minding your p's and q's and find yourself a few minutes early on your work commute so...... why not mosey? And if the light even looks like it may not turn yellow in 30 years, you stop. dead stop. You've decided to enjoy the car watching and wait for the next green light. And the biker behind you totally accepts this and certainly doesn't beep.... they scoot around, because on a bike they can! When the sidewalk is chock full, just head out into the street (it's legal!) and get your move on. When it makes you too nervous to ride on a super busy street, get on the sidewalk (everyone thinks that is legal!) Yes, because on a bike, we can!
