When getting ready for work this morning, I found myself staring extra long at the mermaid hook in the bathroom. Perhaps the barometric pressure alert was going off in my body, somehow saying "Be like a mermaid today, it's gonna rain like no other cats and dogs you've ever met." In Florida it sure rains alot. Hurricanes even come swiping through. Colorado, not so much. It suns here. 300 days of rays, and those other 60 are generally snow with a dusting of rain here and there. Thunder and lightning? Forgattaboutit. Not really gonna happen...until today of course. This thunder vibrates the marrow inside your bonesies, the lightning is more like an explosion of light than a bolt. For a split second, I wondered if I had been hit by lightning today- I felt the ZING flow through me that much. Holy Toledo mermaids, swiiiiiiiiim!!!
What I really thought the extra long mermaid glance was about was the fact that I bought it in Kauai, Hawaii. I loved her straight away and just had to have her forever. Anywho, AMC and I have decided to marry in Kauai, Hawaii on the 21st of June, 2012. Exotic, check. U.S. state so peeps don't need a passport, check mate. English speaking for those unilingual like myself, checkity check. Gorgeous? oh yes. Us? very. Now Now Now.... I must tell you that this is a big deal. We have a DATE! Because, we have contemplated and fantasized, and, in some cases, even told friends and family about several locations to say the least. List: ready, go!!! Fiji, the Carolinas, a flower farm, a boathouse, an amusement park of sorts, a mountain mansion, a ranch, Las Vegas, at one point a friend told me that her boyfriend thought he heard from us, Arizona (never been there but don't put it past us!). We've imagined in great detail many of wedding locations and all of the details to boot, but never a Date. Never once a date:) And now, June 21, 2012- you are all ours babycakes!
Why all these locations? I ask myself. Here's what I think: We are so dreamy! Give us any single place on the planet and we could make it just right for us. Big, small, elope, country, city, elegant, casual----it's all there for us. And, we've had a pretty fun time living them all in our minds. I can tell you that 90% place we visited or became semi-serious about we really could envision. In someplaces, we could all play horshoes- we love horseshoes! In some bocce ball- we love bocce ball! So.... it comes to the point when you just pick one. You just pick! And when you've already planned 30 different weddings with different styles, when it comes down to the real life thing- make it easy:) Pick a stunning place, where your family and friends can easily get to, yet still really get away and marry your soul mate in joy and peeeeeace. aaaah........ yes mermaids, let's us have a swim- in Hawaii!
Bologna... you picked June 2nd of this year - Fiji. Remember when you called and asked if I minded you getting married the day before my birthday (as if I would care, lol). My dad was all set on Fiji for his summer vacation. Just like then, I will wait to buy my airfare until I, maid of honor (shared with LL) is mailed the wedding invite! It's okay though... it's what we love about you. You are a fly by the seat of your pants type of gal. There's no one in the world like you, which is why everyone's so willing to go anyone in the world for you :) Love you tons, Sari
ReplyDeleteSar,
ReplyDeleteMy Dad and Mary are going have enough frequent flyer miles to get us 6 tickets. They can be booked 330 days before flight which is in a few weeks. When they told me they'll be booking them in August, I said, "oh good, then Sar will really believe me!" SO GLAD you will be there, and so grateful you tolerate my flying pants.
